A few weeks ago I had an in-store 20% off coupon for Anthropologie. I hardly go in there without one, that place can get dangerous in a hurry. To be honest, Anthropologie is still a high-end clothing store for me (curse you student loans). They have a few items at a low price point, but man some of their stuff is expensive. The thing that keeps me coming back to Anthro is their unique items and the volcano candles (yes, I am a candle snob and proud). They do have a lot of trendy items, but they look different than the other stores that I frequent the most (looking at you, J.Crew). Their pairings and play on texture is so fun and refreshing! Even if I walk out empty handed, I have a renewed sense of how to style my closet. And that ladies and gentlemen is what shopping was intended to be.

Speaking of texture, have y'all noticed that the 90's are back? Crushed velvet is everywhere you look! I kid you not, our childhood trends are back in action. I am embracing this trend one piece of clothing at a time. You will have to keep your eyes peeled for more crushed velvet looks coming soon. First up, this beautiful floral kimono with crushed velvet details. This kimono is very bold, so I am strategic with when and where I choose to wear it. I muted my layering look with black pants and a black top, this look was perfect for the office. I was one of the first people to see this item in the Oklahoma City store. I am pretty sure I squealed with excitement when I saw it on the rack. Looking at reviews online, people are pointing out that it is a bit narrow. I am pretty flat chested, so it didn't affect me as much, but it would be one that you should try on before making a decision since it is one size fits all.

I think that every lady should have a go-to kimono in her wardrobe. Why? Because they add volume and drama to any look with minimal effort! It takes your look from average to showstopper. Anthropologie has a great selection for you to choose from this season in different colors and lengths. You can wear a kimono with jeans, pants or over a dress. No two kimonos are the same, some have ruffles others have tassels, and some have belts! You can find a statement piece that works with your age, height and shape. By finding your dream kimono, you can create more complete outfits.

Since I muted my layering look with all black, I took a risk with bold turquoise jewelry. I also decided to try a bright lipstick, trying to pick up on a color that was in the floral print. This particular color is a Bobbi Brown Art Stick, Liquid Lip, in the color 'Azalea.' I look forward to styling this kimono into fall as the cooler temperatures roll into Oklahoma.
