As much as I a adore neutrals, big and bold statement pieces give me life! This sequin bomber jacket is the shining disco ball hanging in my closet. I have a funny story about this stunner! One of my favorite local bloggers, Jen Kubes, hosted a shop my closet sale earlier this spring. Little did I know we are basically neighbors! We literally live less than two miles from one another. The world is so small sometimes! I remember her posting this jacket on Instagram and freaking out about it! You can only imagine how pumped I was when I saw this jacket with a for sale tag on it. It's safe to say I had an actual fan girl moment! No shame, sometimes I have mini emotional breakdowns about fashion.

When it comes to styling something this over the top, my philosophy is less is more. Don't get me wrong, you could pair this with a fun print dress and look glam as heck. However, to achieve this sleek polished look I was after, everything else needed to be muted for the jacket to really shine! I paired it with all black everything from head-to-toe. There was just something fun about this skirt and the chunky booties. This look could take you to the office to happy hour, without batting an eye! I know that sequins and beading are not everyone's cup of tea. To me, this screams let's pop champagne and party! Cheers to you my gal pals, it's Friday.

Speaking of bubbly, you have to check out this necklace that is one sale right now at J.Crew Factory. It's called the crystal bubbles necklace, and it's less than $30. If you are a firm believer in statement necklaces, you should add this one to your lineup! You can wear this necklace year round, just imagine how cute it would be around the holiday season with a chunky sweater! I cannot believe I even mentioned sweaters considering it's almost 100 degrees outside here in Oklahoma! Two years ago, I purchased these earrings for my Christmas card photo shoot. They are dirt cheap and look like a million bucks. Too bad they are not real diamonds but at that price--it's hard to complain.

I have found a similar style to the booties I am wearing. I also scored these at Jen's closet sale! Right now, they are on major sale with only a few sizes left. I have a feeling that booties are here to stay for a while! They can be dressed up or down. I also love the exposed gold zipper details on these booties! For whatever reason these days, booties are my boot of choice.

What they say about Oklahoma is true, it's where the wind comes a sweeping down the plains! When we shot this look, a good ole' Oklahoma Thunderstorm was rolling in! I have a firm grip on my swing dress. All I could do is laugh and pray that I didn't flash the friendly people of downtown Oklahoma City. I like to call these days, skirt alerts! I purchased this dress at a blogger event with The Double Take Girls earlier this spring. I kid you not; I probably wear it once a week. The best thing about this dress? It looks different depending on the accessories that you pair with it. It is kind of on the slouch side, and I found it to be true to size. I am wearing a medium for reference. It also comes in a sleeveless option as well.

Speaking of accessories, how great is this knockout turquoise combination? This necklace is beyond beautiful, and it's a steal at $20! I picked this up at the Pioneer Woman Mercantile. Fun fact, I grew up in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Making weekend trips back are more entertaining these days now that the Merc is open. Osage County women love their turquoise (both fake and real). This necklace is always in my rotation. These earrings surprisingly pair well with this necklace. You might not be able to tell, but the beadwork is beautiful. They also come in two other colors and make a splash!

Mules have made a big comeback this spring and summer. They are almost everywhere you turn! I wasn't sure if I would be vibing with them, so I went with a cheaper option. I found these babies at Target! Most of the sizes are sold out online. You might be able to find a pair at your local store. I have a feeling that they will be restocked this summer or they will come out with other color options for fall. Don't quote me; I am just merely speculating. I will make sure to keep my eyes peeled! It's safe to say; I am considering adding an expensive pair of mules to my wishlist. I find mules to be a fresh change to my current shoe lineup.

Okay, I feel like I need to have a real moment with you all. True talk, I do not switch out my purse each day to match my outfit. It might seem that way on the blog, but that's not how I live day-to-day. Y'all, just thinking about that gives me anxiety. I am doing good Monday-Friday to grab a pair of earrings on my way out. When I purchase a handbag, I carry it for a few months at a time. I might change it out for a special occasion event like a wedding or date night. Other than that, I stick with it even if it doesn't match my outfit. I think about my big ticket purchase as cost per carrying, and then it doesn't seem so scary! I am sure that's terrible logic. I know this makes me a terrible fashion blogger, but hey I am just keeping it real.

Summertime is so darn sweet! Many wonderful things that happen during summer. I close my eyes and can almost taste homemade blackberry cobbler topped with homemade ice cream (I can almost hear fireworks in the background as well)! For some reason, that is what my mind immediately thinks of these days. Well, that and SPF tanning oil that smells all tropical! Man, I sure do miss having a pool. I plan on spending a few afternoons poolside trying to maintain my color from vacation.

Do you have any big or exciting plans? In a few weeks, I will be visiting New Orleans for a work conference. My husband is flying down, and we are going to eat and explore the city for a long weekend. We LOVE this city! If you have any recommendations that are off the beaten path, please let me know. I would love to hear from you!

Guys, I have been dying to share this outfit with you. I feel like this showcases my true style. This J.Crew berry print was made into a skirt and button-down this spring. It was obvious to me to pair it with the matching top, but I wanted to challenge myself. I wanted to find the perfect top that was an unexpected compliment. I also have paired this skirt with a white (even though the skirt is ivy in color) tee, a navy tee, and a red tee. It would also look amazing with a navy and white gingham button-down as well. Statement prints like this mixed berry make an impression! People don't forget something this bold. I try and keep it on a rotation and mix it up each time I wear it. That keeps it feeling fresh and fun!

Last week I told you about my favorite little Stillwater boutique, Wooden Nickel. No joke, they have the best selection of jewelry. I have had my eye on these Lisi Lerch tassel earrings for years. My favorite southern bloggers love this brand! I feel like it is finally hitting Oklahoma. Let me just take a moment and talk Oklahoma fashion. I have lived here my entire life (so don't yell at me after you read this next sentence, k?). Oklahoma is late to the fashion trend adoption game. I swear things hit Oklahoma like seasons after they hit the coast. Hear me out, I feel like Tulsa and Oklahoma City are a little more fashion forward. All of that to say, when I saw these Lesi Lerch earrings at Wooden Nickel, I was presently surprised! I was even more shocked to see these $98 earrings marked down to $19.99. Winning, I think yes! Now taking applications to be your personal shopper (only halfway kidding).
