Football season is here, from pee wee to professional, there is a team somewhere out there for you to cheer for! Believe it or not, I was a huge tomboy when I was younger. I vividly remember in fourth grade that I wanted to play football. My parents laughed at all 45 pounds of me, and said ‘no way.’ The thought of being a peewee cheerleader was repulsive to me (which is hilarious because I became cheerleader in high school). Oh isn’t it funny how things work out? My two brothers, John Paul and Jack, are big football fans. John Paul played growing up and Jack still plays for Pawhuska Jr. High. Each Friday, we were encouraged to wear orange to school. This was a Pawhuska thing; the entire town seemed to revolve around showing Huskie pride.

After leaving Pawhuska, I was on my way to Stillwater. If you know anything about Oklahoma State University, it’s all about America’s brightest orange. If you were to look at my closet, you would see a large chunk of orange, black and white. All of that to say, orange has always been an important color in my life. In the south, football is a huge deal. Some would even say that it is a way of life. Being on a college campus during game day is truly an experience. Truth be told, I love the people watching. More specifically, I enjoy seeing what people are wearing.  Based on my experience I would dare to say the SEC is even more intense than the Big 12 when it comes to game day fashion.

Usually, earlier games in the season are hot. There have been times that my friends have even got sunburned while cheering for the Cowboys during August or September. I could wear this look to a game day. However, I would consider wearing different shoes. I think this would be a great outfit for casual Friday or perfect for a watch party. This linen ruffle skirt from J.Crew is available in bright hibiscus and white. Right now, it’s on final sale for less than $35. A lot of the reviews said it is not curvy girl friendly. However, I am happy with how this skirt has worked for me. If you had a chance to run into your local store—I would highly recommend trying it on before purchasing it.

It’s safe to say that I am a lover of classic t-shirts. You have seen me rocking them numerous times here on the blog. This stripe tee from J.Crew Factory is a classic in my lineup. If you love orange, you should consider getting this t-shirt. I decided to knot it with this skirt, just to mix things up a bit. It pairs so well with the classic Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace. If you are looking to purchase this longer tassel necklace, I would recommend a color that goes with numerous outfits, not something that is a flashy statement.
