Black Lace Maxi Dress

You should never underestimate the power of a little black dress (aka LBD). I think that a LBD is one of the most versatile pieces in your closet. When I slip on a LBD, like I am a five-year-old who put on a super hero cape. I feel fearless and ready to take on the world! Some people have power suits but I have power dresses. Maybe this is the reason why I own about ten! If you remember, a few weeks ago I swore off purchasing another black dress, You can see how long that lasted! Let's all take a moment to laugh. My name is Lindsey, and I have a problem.

Let's get back to talking about why LBDs are so great! You can dress it up or down with accessories and shoes. This dress can work for date night with your man, or a girls night. I could really see it working for you if you happened to have an upcoming black dress bachelorette party! I call this an easy button outfit. Please tell me you remember those office supply store commercials, "Whoa, that was easy."

Why do I call this an easy button outfit? Well all you have to do is toss on a necklace, lipstick, and out the door, you go! The Tobi opposites attract black, maxi dress caught my eye. The neckline with the lace detail made my heart skip a beat! However, when I was styling it, I decided that the neckline was a little too low for me. That was an easy fix with a safety pin. Every girl needs a few safety pins lying around for a moment like this! Let's be real, I am not a seamstress, and I didn't want to take it in for alterations. It almost feels like a sexy slip dress. I had to be really mindful when walking outside in that Oklahoma wind. Don't get me wrong, I am totally down to show a little leg (wink, wink).

Let's talk accessories! How great is this dainty necklace? A few years ago, I made a connection with Dana Pruitt. She owns and operates a jewelry business via Etsy. Her designs are handmade, and custom. Bonus, her jewelry is also at an excellent price point! I am telling you, prepare to stand out when you wear this necklace, it is really that unique! I don't know about you, but I love finding things that are a little different. I also love this necklace because it's orange and black, perfect for Oklahoma State University game days and Orange Fridays in Stillwater. These beautiful beaded earrings are sold out in orange. There are two colors left, and they are on final sale right now at J. Crew. This dress honestly could pull off any color pairing. Go ahead get creative!

I have a new relationship in my life. I am in love with my current workout! Yep, you read that right. I have found a workout that I actually enjoy! A few months ago, a Pure Barre studio opened within a five-mile radius from my home. They offer classes multiple times a day and seven days a week! Each class is different, so it keeps you entertained and your muscles stay engaged the entire time. You will come to love the small, targeted movements with big results.  I feel like a million bucks after I finish my workout, even though I do not look like it. I am not one of those girls that look pretty after a workout. Nope, I look like I just took a dive into the pool with all of my clothes on. I have a few tricks up my sleeve to keep me looking fresh, and I want to share with you how I go from Pure Barre to running errands around town.

The night before class, I make sure to have all of my ducks in a row. I lay out my workout gear, sticky socks, and flip-flops. I take my Packed Party pouch to class with me and I have it filled with my essentials. In there you can find my wallet, cell phone on silent (to be kind of course), one YUNI Beauty Shower Sheet, lipstick, and a clean tee to change into. After class, I grab everything out of my locker and freshen up. I am telling you, if you do not have time to shower, these YUNI sheets are magical and surprisingly big enough to do the job! After I have cooled down and removed the nasty sweat, I grab my clean shirt and toss on my baseball cap and call it good! Now I am ready to tackle my to-do list.

Finding the right workout pant can be extremely challenging. I know that a lot of you out there like Lululemon. To be honest, I have not purchased any of their workout pants because I would rather spend my money on shoes or handbags. Maybe one day I will treat myself to a pair (never say never, right)? You might be surprised that my favorite workout pants are from Old Navy. The pants I am wearing here are from last year. However, I have found a very similar pair and come in four colors (including black). Trust me, they fit in all of the right places and make your booty feel fabulous!

You all know I live for a good tee! From the office to running errands, I believe there is a tee for every occasion. This Tobi number is trendy without breaking the bank! You will want to live in this once you feel it on your body. Imagine the softest stuffed animal you have ever cuddled and times that by ten. Get the idea? This tee is THAT good!

Stepping out of My Comfort Zone With a Plunging Romper

Life is an adventure about finding yourself and feeling confident in your body. Believe it or not, my positivity journey had a little rough start. I graduated from high school ten years ago, and since then, my body has changed so much! However, one thing has stayed the same; I still do not have cleavage. In high school, people constantly teased me about not having womanly features. For example, one nickname that gave me nightmares for years: surfboard. Because I was as flat as a surfboard. If I am being genuine with you, it took me a long time to finally come to peace with it. Over the past year, I have actually started to accept my body in a way I never have before. With that change, I have also begun trying new clothing silhouettes and styles.

In the last year, I have found a new love for rompers and jumpsuits. They make me feel like a total boss! I slip one on, and it's an instant confidence booster. When I saw this Tobi romper, I knew I wanted to be brave enough to try it on. My measurements are tiny up top and large on the bottom, so I ordered a size large. The sleeves were a tad too long, but I was happy with the fit everywhere else. To make this look work without a malfunction, sticky boobs are a must-have! If you don't own any of these, I highly recommend it. They have saved me on more than one occasion. I have never in my entire life wore an article of clothing this revealing. Looking at these photos, I don't know why in the heck I was so nervous.

The thing that really ties this look together, in my mind, is the necklace. I didn't have a long delicate necklace in my lineup to really do this neckline justice. It was time to go shopping! I hit up The Impeccable Pig in Oklahoma City. I explained to the girls in the store what I was wearing, and we looked together to find the perfect accessory to complete this look. As you can see, it's actually longer than the cutout, so I tucked it into the romper. I am looking forward to wearing this again to spice things up a notch.

Here's the deal, if I, Lindsey Davidson a Tobi size large, can wear this outfit and fell fearless and sexy--so can you! Clearly, you don't have to wear this same outfit, but do you get what I am saying? Your scale number, and your clothing numeric number, does not decrease or increase your value as a person. You are beautiful no matter what! It's about finding an outfit that makes you feel confident and secure in your own body, even if you need to give yourself a mini pep talk in the mirror before you hit the streets!
